She loves her kong and other chewies!

It's been a busy couple of days with Riley. I've been home with her all week, except for Tuesday, when I had to go in to work at the camp office, and Tom worked from home. She really is a very good puppy, she doesn't cry/whine much, and has started whining at the kitchen door to go outside! She does seem to sleep most of the day, and then has a tough time at night.

We've tried a couple of different sleeping arrangements at night. The first 2 nights she slept in a cardboard box in the bedroom (her kennel is huge, and barely fits in the bedroom) She rustled around a ton, which made sleep nearly impossible, for any of us. After the second night, it seemed that it wouldn't be long before she learned to tip the box on it's side, so we moved to plan B. We put the kennel right outside the bedroom door. The kennel isn't her favorite place to be, and she let us know. After about a half hour of her whining/crying/screaming/howling we couldn't take it anymore, and resorted to plan C. Riley has turned the kitchen into her home, and we let her sleep in there. We realized that this won't help the potty training process, because the kitchen is big enough for her to sleep in one corner, and eliminate in the other. After that not so fun night, I spent much of our day yesterday trying to get her more comfortable in her kennel. We were rewarded with a pretty quiet night of sleep last night, she was in her kennel, which we crammed into the bedroom. She is still asking to go out every hour or so, I'm hoping that calms down soon!
